Lama tak update. Sorry Iqbal.

Cerita lama, buat contoh.
Lagipun, jalan kampung." Bila sampai kepada diri sendiri, orang selalu go: "Takpe ah, situasi aku ni, special. Pihak berkuasa mesti faham punya."

Jerk
Sometimes I feel like the biggest jerk in the world. I know how much favor that Allah has given to me, but I still have the guts to be ungrateful.
(Oh Allah, help me to remember you, and thank you, and worship you in the best of manners. {Sunan Abu Dawud, Hadith 1522})

To Syria
I'm sure there have been many sick individuals in history who've had the heartlessness to behead a child. But witnessing one proof of this evil first-hand in a video really brings you to another level of consciousness.
In memory of Marwah 'Adil Bahar. Your part on earth is done, little sister. I'm sure there's no where else for a pure soul like you to go but the gardens. I thank Allah that you didn't have to grow up and face the world and know the evil that some people are capable of. I ask Allah that I be given the chance to go where you would certainly be going, and have the strength to make all the right decisions to lead me there.
Amin.

Insignificant
We humans are nothing but specks on a speck of dust floating in space. Allah, master of all things big and small, free me from pride, arrogance, selfishness and self-centeredness.

Self-evaluation
Saw a picture of 2 severely undernourished African children compared with a picture of some Arab country leader with a grand feast on the dining table.

I changed my mind
Ok, so I talked to a friend and found out that maybe the good part of this blog may have some goodness in it. So I'll try to spew out only goodness from now on. And the blog will stay up.
The joy of a father
I'm not writing this to impress girls, because, I dunno, maybe some girls like family guys? Just sharing this wonderful feeling that I had while I was having a dream about being a father.
***
Typical for dreams, you're usually not sure how they start. So I'm not sure how this one started too. But then I reached the part where I met my children. A boy and a girl. Twins, I guess. Beautiful children. One was named Matt and the other Fiorina*. And my feeling at the moment, only Allah knows. My heart was so warm with fatherly love, I felt like I would give anything for them. I felt like I would recalculate all my existing plans in life that I've made so that they become a priority. So that they may get the time and attention that they deserve from a father.
Powerful dream. Makes me rethink how much love my parents have for me.
Apropos dreams, have you ever had a dream so overwhelmingly sad or happy that you cried? And not just in the dream but also physically that your pillow get soaked with tears?
*LOL, this not-so-common name must have come from my Italian learning experience. In Italian, one of the ways to form a diminutive is to put an -ino (or -ina for female) suffix at the end of a noun. Some words only go with one suffix, but according to my teacher, for some words you just do it on a hunch i.e. there's no fixed diminutive suffix for them. Fiorina, as uncommon as it is, technically means small flower and is derived from the word fiore (flower). The common name that conveys the same meaning is Fiorella. On a side note, even I was wondering why their names are English and Italian respectively.
